God is not only the Creator of the vast cosmos but also lovingly cares for it. He sends his Son to restore humanity to our rightful place in his creation-to be in communion with him in every sphere of human activity.
The Gospel of the Kingdom of God is Good News! Through Christ’s death, burial and resurrection, he broke the bonds of sin and death. He opened the portals of life eternal. He bids us to believe in him and to enter into a whole new way of living under his rule and reign.
Entrance into Christ’s Kingdom is by “water and the Spirit” (Jn3:5) It is a new birth. Baptism is the ritual of initiation into Christ’s community. In baptism a person is “immersed“ in the death of Christ and rises to new life in Christ. Being born anew into God’s loving family, we journey together with Christ as channels of grace to every nook and cranny of Good’s great creation.
People of all ages can be baptized into the Catholic Faith…from infant to mature adult. The Catholic Faith also recognizes all other Christian baptisms as valid. For those wishing to join the Catholic Faith community from other Christian faiths and who have been baptized in other Churches, this sacrament of initiation need not be repeated. Baptism Prep Classes
Baptism preparation class is required for all first time parents who are Catholic and the godparents to be. Classes are taught on an individual basis. Please contact the Pastoral Associate to set up a time that works for all of you. If either the parents or the godparents have already taken a course, then contact the parish you took the course from and have them send a letter to St Thomas More stating your completion of the course.
