St. Thomas More Church is a community of faith and fellowship. Parishioners gather not only to worship, pray, and learn, but also to develop and foster this community with one another. The parish offers many opportunities for fellowship throughout the year. Volunteers are needed to help plan, prepare for, and put on these events and gatherings. Below are listed the Fellowship Ministries that St. Thomas More Parish has available for participating in and volunteering for. Please contact the Parish Office at 503-222-2055 if you are interested in joining one of these ministries or would like further information on specific ministries.
This is a group of parishioners ages 49 and over. The group meets twice monthly, once for lunch and another for a special outing that is social with a religious emphasis.
The Catholic Youth Organization provides athletic activities for our Parish and School youth. Parish teams compete against other parish teams from around the city. These activities are open to children of the parish grades 3rd-8th. Children may sign up to participate in Football, Basketball, Track, Volleyball, and Swimming. CYO also has a summer camp called Camp Howard. Registration is required.
Coffee and Donuts:
Coffee and Donuts are served in the Parish Hall after most 8am and 10am Masses to strengthen the sense of community within our parish. These fellowship gatherings are hosted by the Altar Society Guilds and school parents. Donations are collected to help offset the cost of supplies.
Wine & Cheese:
The parish also provides fellowship gatherings for our parishioners after evening Mass on Saturday nights. Wine, cheese, and other light appetizers are served in the Parish Hall after most 5pm Masses.
STM Community Picnic:
To kick off the new school year, we invite you to our annual STM Community Picnic. Each year our parish and school work together to host a barbeque that is a communal gathering for parishioners and school families.
Our Spaghetti Dinner is an annual fundraiser and fellowship event that is sponsored by the school PTO for the purpose of raising funds for enhanced learning opportunities at STM School throughout the year.
